Blossoming Gifts floral bouquets

Isn’t it crazy how a smell can bring back memories?

Spring flowers always remind me of my mum, as some of her favourites are what I knew back in New Zealand as spring cheer and jonquils (over here they’re more commonly known as fragrant daffodils, or narcissi). They used to grow wild in gorgeously-scented clumps, and I’d gather as many as I could hold to bring home for her.

This love of scented flowers has followed me to the other side of the planet, and you’ll often find me stopping the girls and handing them something gorgeous to sniff (literally stopping to smell the roses!), from lilacs and jasmine, to daphne bushes and gardenia blooms.

This instant association is thought to be because our olfactory system (the area of the brain that processes smells) is located right next to the part that stores and recalls memories, resulting in the two becoming intrinsically linked.

Whatever the scientific reason behind it, there’s no better way to instantly lift your mood than a bunch of perfumed flowers, like these divinely scented hyacinths from BLOSSOMING GIFTS (just one of the bunches in their spring bouquet selection).

So…. to celebrate spring FINALLY arriving I’d love to brighten your day, by giving you the chance to win this colourful spring bouquet, worth £29.99! For your chance to win, follow the Rafflecopter prompts. Good luck!
