Since the moment she was old enough to dress herself Lil Sis possessed a certain panache.
I genuinely don’t know where she got it from, as it’s something that’s eluded me for my entire life: she’s just one of those people who can make anything look great – whether it be a formal outfit, a pair of jeans or one of my t-shirts that’s she’s wearing as a dress.
We won’t let her get her ears pierced yet so she puts tiny stickers on her lobes; the other day I found her wearing one of my necklaces like an exotic headpiece, and it looked amazing.
Most recently, she’s started styling her own hair for school (I’m not allowed to go near it anymore) and I swear she does a better job than I ever did.
So, when MOLLY BROWN LONDON got in touch to ask if we wanted to try a keepsake from their stunning range of luxury children’s jewellery I knew my little magpie would be utterly thrilled.
Established by Erica Illingworth in 2006, Molly Brown London was dubbed ‘Tiffany for girls’ by fashion bible, Vogue. Classy and contemporary, the brand was created with the belief that girls of all ages deserved good quality British jewellery.
Because all pieces are adjustable, they can be worn and adored forever.
It took me a good hour of browsing the site, falling in love with every other piece, before I finally settled on this beautiful sterling silver small Lulu Locket necklace, which sells for £55.
I chose it because it was gorgeous and timeless. Unlike many children’s keepsakes, which they eventually grow out of, this has an extender chain so she can keep and wear it forever. These really are the most gorgeous, thoughtful gifts for baby showers, birthdays, Christmas and special occasions.
I also adored that it was a traditional locket that can be opened up to reveal a tiny compartment, which is just such a lovely, romantic idea. I visualised Lil Sis filling it with dried lavender, or even a tiny note with wishes scribbled on it.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more lovely – Lil Sis decided she wants to fill her locket with a photo of Mummy and Daddy.
• thank you to Molly Brown London, who sent us this gorgeous locket for the purpose of review
