Lil Sis’s birthday falls just a few days into the new school year, so it’s always a bit of mad rush getting anything sorted.
She had a pizza-making party last year, followed by mini manicures; it was a fab day but I’m still recovering from the stress of organising it all (clearly event management is not my thing).
This summer I had the added issue of a broken rib – just another notch on the bedpost of my accident-prone life – slowing me down, so I made a decision to make it ‘low-key lovely’, with a special afternoon tea treat for the girls.
With a stroke of timely luck, Laura from PARTY DELIGHTS got in touch to ask if we’d like to try something from their huge range of pretty party decorations – which includes everything from tableware and banners to goody bag gifts and fancy dress costumes.
I was browsing the Tea Party section when I came across their gorgeous ‘TRULY ALICE‘ range, and knew I’d found what I was looking for; is anything more fantastically magical than Alice and her adventures in Wonderland?
I could have easily ordered the entire range.
Eventually, I narrowed it down to the essentials of paper plates, tablecloth and party cups and saucers, then added some wonderful whimsy with a delightful layered cake stand, mini cake domes and a teapot centrepiece.
I started by draping the table we used on our first family camping adventure with a baby blue tablecloth. We already had a glass decanter at home that I filled with summer fruits cordial, giving it a gorgeous rose-pink hue. I piled the plates with sandwiches, pizza and popcorn, and filled the domes with teensy cupcakes and placed them on the cake stand.
The cardboard teapot actually has a plastic liner so you can fill it with fresh flowers, but I chose to arrange some pink silk peonies in there instead – they added just the right amount of floral flounce, and the colour went perfectly with pretty table decorations.
And here’s the final result… what do you think?
Thank you, Party Delights, for our ‘Truly Alice‘ range of pretty party decorations.
