A month ago, I hadn’t even heard of Tropic Skincare range of cruelty free cosmetics, but what I’ve learned since has kinda blown me away.
In 2004 a 15-year-old schoolgirl, Susan Ma, created a body scrub free from synthetic nasties such as parabens, alcohol or sodium lauryl sulfate (do not get me started on SLS’s – if you want to read more about what I think of them, read about how we revealed the cause of Big Sis’s baby eczema).
Drawing on her childhood memories of growing up in Tropical North Queensland, she blended essential oils, mineral-rich sea salts and pure plant extracts, and enriched them with vitamin e and lemon myrtle. The result was her luxurious Tropic Skincare Body Smooth scrub, which buffed the skin, then moisturised it to silky smooth perfection.
She was just 16 when she began to dream of expanding to create a range of chemical and cruelty-free cosmetics made from naturally derived ingredients. In 2011 she starred in The Apprentice, making it to the finals but falling just short of taking home the £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar. Which, in the end, didn’t really matter, since he was so impressed by her business model he ended up personally investing in Tropic Skincare the following year.
Today the range consists of skin care, body care, and makeup up, but the core values remain the same: all the products are created using premium natural ingredients. The entire range is vegan and cruelty-free, and every ingredient is clearly listed on the packaging.
Now I’m giving you the chance to win the very product that launched the Tropic Skincare range – the fabulous Body Smooth refreshing polish, worth £24.
Follow the Rafflecopter prompts to enter, and if you simply can’t wait to see if you’ve won, you can visit this TROPIC SKINCARE ‘GLAMBASSADOR’ SHOP to check out the full range. Good luck!
