seraphina weekend edit

We spent our Easter break on a bullock farm in rural Devon, which meant fresh air, open spaces, peace and quiet and complete comfort dressing. Bliss!

But there were still a few little luxuries I had to take with me. Luckily for a technophile like me even deep, dark Devon has a great 4G signal these days, so I packed my trusty mini iPad to read the papers and catch up on Homeland in the evening with a glass of Sauvignon (does it get any better?!).

I’ve been obsessed with this Sönd skincare since discovering and reviewing it earlier this year. I’ve tried pretty much all the big (and small) brands over the years, but this was by far my favourite; my skin just felt amazing when I used it. The hydrating spray was a great way to perk me up in the morning while giving my skin a blast of moisture.

Camera. I just don’t leave home without one – whether it be my iPhone 6 Plus, or my DSLR (actually, the camera in this shot is a manual SLR film camera I got about 20 years ago, as I was using my Canon to take the photo!).

My trusty sunnies. Granted, the weather wasn’t great but it was still bright enough to warrant some shades (yes, I’m one of those people who wears a pair all the time, as I can’t bear squinting).

A light wrap. The boot of our car is miniscule, so we had to pack ultra light – which meant leaving my big, thick fluffy dressing gown at home. I took my lightweight SERAPHINA wrap instead; made from 100 percent cotton voile it took up no space in the case, but still gave me a comfy extra layer to throw on while drinking my morning coffee.

Finally, my favourite bangle. I don’t suit lavish jewellery, so this was the perfect little fashion accoutrement. Simple and elegant, it just added a little lift to my t-shirt and jeans holiday uniform when we ventured out to a little bistro cafe in north Cornwall (the food was AMAZING by the way; if you’re ever by the canal you absolutely need to check out the OLIVE TREE – I can totally recommend the burgers, made with local beef and Cornish brie).

What are your bank holiday must haves?

  1. Oooh pretty wrap, ideal for holiday packing when you’re limited on space. I’m totally with you the sunnies, I too hate squinting (who wants crows feet?!). I have never heard of Sond (sorry I must have missed that post) and I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Cornwall. Lucky you x
