Soak & Sleep

As a child I used look out of plane windows and dream of bouncing around on the big, white, fluffy clouds; I remember being quite gutted when I discovered they were actually just big puffs of floating condensation.

But what on earth does this have to do with bedding?!  I hear you ask.

I was very excited to be contacted by SOAK & SLEEP, asking if I would like to try one of their gorgeous 200 thread count pin-tuck cotton duvet covers.

I’ve made no secret of how much I love my sleep. Unfortunately I don’t get enough of it at the moment, so if I can’t have the right quantity, I’m going to try my hardest to get the best quality – which is why my bed is so important to me.

I’ve written before about how I try hard to keep the bedroom as my sanctuary, and a big part of that is beautiful bedding. Nothing – nothing – feels better than sliding into crisp, clean bedding at the end of the day.

And now I’ll get to the point: in my old cover, the feather-filled winter duvet had felt quite heavy, but in the Soak & Sleep cover it felt completely different – gorgeously airy – and I was instantly reminded of those big, bouncy sky cushions I used to dream of clambering across. I’m not joking, it literally felt like I was sleeping on a cloud.

Then I wondered if I was overreacting, so I asked OH to try it out: ‘What is this?’ he confirmed, ‘it feels AMAZING!’

And it’s practical too: it’s fastened with ties, rather than buttons (which I find always pop undone), and can be machine washed and tumble dried. The pin-tucks give it a beautiful elegant look, and it even comes with a 365-day guarantee.

I can’t tell you what kind of duvet voodoo Soak & Sleep employs, all I can say is I’ve never had bedding that feels so warm and cosy, yet cotton-crisp and light at the same time; I’m literally counting the minutes until I can climb back into bed.
