SERIOUSLY SKOGSTAD (awesome outdoor clothing)

As much as I hate rain (and I really do hate rain!) the damp deluge has had an unexpected upside. Because, just before the heavens opened again, a little package arrived from Skogstad.

SkogWHO? I hear you say.

Skogstad are a family-run outdoor clothing company, first founded in a teeny little Norwegian village called Innvik. Tucked at the end of a fjord, Innvik is subjected to warmest of summers and the harshest of winters, so these people know their outdoor wear. They know what keeps the heat in, and the rain out, and they know how to make it look gooooood.

But the really good news is Skogstad is now here, in the UK. You can visit the website, follow them on Twitter @SkogstadUK; and Like them on Facebook:

Check out the fab jackets Lil Sis and Big Sis are wearing; they’re so adorable it makes me actually wish for rain. So what do I love about them? Well they look great, obvs. They’re super lightweight, yet you can just feel that they’re durable. They’re made from breathable material, yet the girls tell me they’re deliciously warm and cosy. They just love all the special little extras built into the designs; like lots of pockets, a snug internal waistband to stave off winter winds, and wrist warmers sewn into the sleeves.

They were particularly chuffed with the little reflective ghost badges which they immediately clipped on to their zippers, and I loved the high-vis strips on the sleeves and back of the jackets – extra protection during low light, and bad weather.

These are not just school run jackets, no siree! These will battle the elements and keep you warm and dry while you’re skiing, climbing, walking, camping, cycling… need I go on?!

But the girls weren’t the only lucky ones – Mum got to try this coat too. I. Know. Who’d’ve thunk raincoats (or technical jackets, as they’re officially called) could look so darn cool?!

• disclosure: clothing was sent for the purpose of review

  1. The girls look so grown up! the coats look good to especially the one for the big girl. I am desperately looking for a rainy school run/dog walking coat and this could be perfect X

  2. Wow lucky you guys, I love the look of all three coats. It makes a nice change to see little spots on the jackets, so often they are just a plain colour or blocks of colour and i LOVE the look of your coat. Now get your wellies on and get puddle jumping!!!!

  3. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any points for rookie blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
