It takes a lot for Big Sis to get excited about fashion. Unlike Lil Sis, who’s always meticulously groomed – from ribboned hair, to sparkly-shoed feet – she’s a lot more laid back when it comes to selecting her wardrobe.
But the moment I laid eyes on Mayoral’s range of kids’ jackets, I knew Big Sis would love this rose-pink biker style. It her just totally her.
For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, Mayoral is a family business that started in Malaga, Spain, over 80 years ago. Over the years the business has evolved from making and selling socks and tights, to manufacturing kids’ clothing.
Today, their UK online shop sells a wide range of fashionable styles, from baby dresses and dresses for girls, to swimwear and accessories, to coats and trainers for teenagers. They’re the largest clothes manufacturer in Spain, and have 200 self-owned and franchise stores in 75 countries.
More than 30 million pieces of clothing are sold each year, from a range of 3000 unique pieces created annually by the MAYORAL design team.
This stylish jacket was actually from their autumn/winter range, so I managed to pick it up on sale for £25 (bargain!). The biker style and shoulder studs make it perfect for Big Sis, who has a more of a ‘rock chick’ fashion sense.
The other weekend we had a sneak preview of summer, with beautiful blue skies all day, so she teamed her jacket with a plain white tank top, denim shorts and the GEOX motorcycle boots we reviewed last autumn.
I’d noticed an apple tree on the way to school that was laden with the prettiest blossoms. The light was so stunning that I quickly grabbed my camera and bundled up the girls for an impromptu photo session. We got to the tree just as the sun was shining through the leaves, turning them the most gorgeous shade of bright green and creating the perfect backdrop for the brilliant white blooms.
Big Sis doesn’t usually have a lot of patience for my endless picture taking, but she loved her new jacket so much she was happy to show it off. I know I’m biased, but she’s adorable, right?
• this is a commissioned post, but we bought our Mayoral jacket. Blossoms courtesy of Mother Nature.
