AMAZING MUMS (tesco mum of the year 2014)

I’m not a perfect Mum. Sometimes I worry I’m working too much, or not being patient enough with the girls, but for the most part I think I’m doing an OK job.

Then I attend the Tesco Mum of the Year awards at London’s iconic Savoy Hotel, and it makes me realise how much better I can be. Because these women aren’t just muddling through motherhood, they’re doing a phenomenal job. Not just for their own families, but for their entire communities.

This was the third year I had the pleasure of attending the awards and, once again, I was blown away by all these women have achieved. From raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, to setting up an educational school, to lobbying for law changes that protect families from violent crime.

What a day! I laughed… I cried… I cried some more… I even discovered that my lovely table neighbour Amanda Lamb had the same nickname for her daughter. Fancy that, huh? And let’s not forget the celebrity stalking spotting with my fellow bloggers Claire from Ministry of Mum and Jo from Slummy Single Mummy
