Picking up Big Sis from school on Friday, I noticed she had a little bag of meringues in her book bag. They often bake little biscuits to bring home, so I didn’t really think twice about it.
‘Can you open these, please Mummy?’ she asked, handing me the packet.
Half-distracted, I pulled open the ribbon, and handed them back to her. ‘Share them with your sister,’ I instructed.
Imagine my surprise when I received my Mother’s Day present this morning…
‘Ermm, Big Sis, did you eat my Mother’s Day present?’ I asked.
‘No Mummy!’ she replied, looking insulted. ‘I was just making sure the ‘rangs’ (meringues) weren’t too big for you!’
