I love Easter. Not just because I get to gorge on guilt-free(ish) chocolate, but because it's that time of year when the icy temps recede, and venturing outside doesn't put you at risk of hypothermia.
Which makes it a great time to get away with the family, and blow away those Winter cobwebs.
I love travelling, but these days, with a two and a four-year-old, I prefer to keep it close to home. Airports, check-ins, flights and jetlag are not conducive to relaxing getaways when you have little ones in tow.
Am I right, or am I right, Mums and Dads?
I've been lucky enough to stay in some amazing luxury hotels, but I can honestly say one of my favourite getaways was a week spent in a modest holiday lodge in North Devon.
This year we're planning to do something similar, so I've been checking out the breaks offered by Park Dean Holidays. This is the first year that we've been bound by the uber-expensive school holidays, so I love their budget-conscious options.
In fact they have holiday lodges uk wide, in 24 stunning locations; from Cornwall, to Scotland (each comes with separate bedrooms, private bathrooms, and fitted kitchens, and comfy living areas).
For me, it's not just the gorgeous views, and peaceful settings that appeal; it's the family-friendly focus.
Many of the holiday parks include adventure playgrounds, swimming pools, and Kids’ Clubs to get the little ones entertained. And if you want to venture further afield, there are loads of local attractions to explore.
Enough from me; check them out for yourself: www.parkdeanholidays.co.uk
