FISHTASTIC & FABULOUS (simple family fish recipes)

A year ago, this sight would have struck fear in my heart. 

Now, I see a wide world of fishy possibility. Do I grill? Bake? Shallow fry? Or flake into a kedgeree? The options are endless!

Last year I was lucky enough to take part in loads of cool projects, but one of my absolute favourites was becoming a FISH IS THE DISH Fish Fanatic. 

I even got invited to contribute to their Fish is the Dish Family Cook Book brochure. Me. Supplying a recipe. That other people might eat. Now there’s a turn up for the (cook) book. 

So, what do we have here? The dish on the left is one I’ve taken from the brochure: Cod with Tomatoes and Thyme, courtesy of FEEDING BOYS AND A FIREFIGHTER. I’ve served it with wild rice. 

The second is Wild Haddock that I dusted with flour, shallow fried, and served with home-made guacamole, and a mix of spelt, barley and rice. 

In case you’re feeling a bit left out, I’ve got a few copies of the Fish is the Dish brochure to give away to my lovely blog buddies. It contains 18 fab fish recipes, including my very own, on page 12. What is it? You’ll just have to wait and see…

    they look lovely and edible!! I love fish yet cannot cook it at all. I’m scared of fish but apparently it cooks quickly and easily?

    Used to hate fresh fish (had food poisoning when I was a child and would feel sick even at the thought of eating it) but was in Australia at the Great Barrier Reef and they had a selection of fresh fish on the buffet that smelled so good that I thought I’d give it a try again as husband said it was delicious…took one bite and it was!

    Now I’ll at least give different types of fish a try (funnily enough, tonight I actually had calamari with cous cous and salad!)

    Oooh I love fish dishes, that said I wouldn’t know where to start. My Nanna used to buy fresh fish from the local market every week, I always remember her buying a yellow one. I hope to one day provide my children with memories of Mummy like that!
