This month, in a nod to Valentine’s Day, we’ve been reading some LOVE-ly titles from Random House Children’s Books. Sorry. Terrible joke. Anyway, these gorgeous picture books are particularly fitting, as they all deal focus on the subject of luuuuurve.

In One Kiss One Hug, by Jason Chapman, baby bear stalls his bedtime by insisting on just one more kiss and cuddle. Sound familiar Big Sis, hmmmm?

In Jennifer Jones Won’t Leave Me Alone, by Frieda Wishinsky and Neal Layton, the little boy doesn’t realise how much he actually enjoys Jennifer Jones’ affection, until she leaves and he misses her (typical guy, huh?).

But my favourites have to be My Mum, and My Dad, both by Anthony Brown, which talk about how amazing, and talented us parents are. But we already knew that, right?

All the titles have an RRP of £5.99, and are available on-line and from bookstores.

I knew it was Anthony Brown as soon as I saw the picture. We have 3 of his books and I went to hear  him speak at the British Council in Jerusalem about six years ago. He’s very interesting and personable in real life as well as being a great storyteller and wonderfully humourous illustrator. (No we’re not related I just think he’s fab).
