It’s a New Year, and the perfect time to recognise another deserving woman with Mummy’s Little Monkey’s ‘SPREAD A SMILE’.
This week’s recipient was nominated by Anna, from Mummy Squared who wanted to say a very special thank you to her friend Sally.
Anna explains: ‘Sally is a close family friend of mine. She came into my life when my brother was in hospital with leukemia.
She was his staff nurse – a walking angel, who not only nursed my brother through his illness, but nursed us all after he died in 1982.
She and her three gorgeous sons quickly became part of our family.
Sally continues to nurse. In fact she has been a midwife, a health visitor and a paediatric nurse, and now works in SCBU with some of the most critical babies.
Despite having a demanding job, a busy personal life, and her own family, she still finds the time to ask about my day.
She’ll listen patiently for an hour as I discuss my babies’ sleep habits. When she knows I am having a bad day, she sends me cards telling me what a brilliant parent I am.
She always has a smile and a kind word, and an amazing capacity to help other people. I wish everyone had a ‘Sally’ in their life.’
|Me (l) with Mum (back) and Sally (r) and her three boys|After hearing about the lovely Sally, the equally lovely people at INTERFLORA generously donated a gorgeous bouquet of hand-tied spring flowers, just like the bunch pictured above.
‘Bursting with colour and texture, this is a gift to brighten someone’s day,’ says Mark, from Interflora. ‘We love the combination of fresh spring flowers in contrasting colours – we’ve chosen the best of the season to create this cheerful spring bouquet.’
