So this is my new addition to Mummy’s Little Monkey. Each week I’m going to let you in on a little Thingy I’ve found that makes my life just that little bit easier.
Sometimes they’ll be things I’ve stumbled across all on my lonesome, and other times they’ll be products that a PR has contacted me about, but I promise you that they’ll always be items that I have chosen myself, and that I’ve found to be genuinely helpful, clever & cost conscious.
I’m going to try to update it each week, but don’t think less of me if I can’t… life has an annoying way of intruding on my blogging sometimes.
Because this is the inaugural Thingy of the Week, I have not one, but two super duper Thingys to tell you about!
The first one I tracked down after getting sick of burning my fingers every bloody time I pulled bread out of the toaster. The idea is so simple I don’t understand why it took me so long work out that I needed a pair. These magnificent inventions are wooden toast tongs. I got mine from Lakeland, but this particular pair cost a wallet-pleasing £1.50, from a website called Salt & Pepper.
This next Thingy has revolutionalised my life. OK, thats a teeny bit dramatic, but it really has taken a chunk out of my daily toddler clean up time. The Munchkin Snack Catcher has a rubber lid that allows your little one to put their hand inside, but prevents the rest of the snacks from being tipped out. My daughter’s favourite trick is to upturn her food bowl, making a huge mess in the process, so I had high hopes for this when Sam from Azaria PR got in touch about it.
To my great pleasure, it works really well! Lucia loves eating out of it, and it really does keep everything where it should be. I’ve filled it with blueberries, raisins, Cheerios, and the new Plum multi-grain cheese rings I got from CyberMummy. All went down a treat with the little one.
It’s much easier on public transport too, as I don’t have to worry about her making a mess – especially since it’s getting increasingly hard for me to bend down over my baby bump to pick things up.
The Munchkin Snack Catcher costs £3.49, and the range is available from Asda and Wilkinsons.
So, there they are – the very first Thingys!! I hope they prove useful to you too…
