Pregnancy – the Bad & the Good!

 me & numero uno
Acid indigestion / Fruit flavoured Rennies – Yummy!!
The baby kicking when I’m trying to sleep / The baby kicking at any other time
The constant exhaustion / Having an excuse for an afternoon nap
The bad moods and weepiness / The excitement
Not being able to drink / No more hangovers
Looking like a Weeble / Not having to suck my stomach in
Not being able to eat prawns or sushi / Being able to eat more of everything else
Humping my bump on public transport / Always getting a seat (even if I have to guilt people into it…)
Having to wear maternity clothes / Having to wear maternity clothes (if they’re from the gorgeous Mamas & Papas’ Summer range)
Having to go to the loo ALL. THE. TIME! / Sorry, couldn’t think of an upside to this one…
Childbirth (the delivery part) / Childbirth (the newborn baby part)

numero uno in the flesh!

  1. KT - July 8, 2010

Having been through pregnancy once it kind of uts me off going through it again – the positive is I at least know it does end! Also the end product is more than worth it

  2. @jencull (jen) - July 8, 2010

The end justifies the means! Yep, agree with every single point you made:) Jen

  3. Mummy Bear - July 8, 2010

ah…so agree…you look utterly blooming…was the picture taken now, or when you were pregnant with Lucia?..the upside to peeing all the time is you actually get a few minutes to yourself!!!

  4. Want to know more? - July 8, 2010

You look blooming’ lovely!! I didn’t look that good! Your baby is gorgeous all tbat dark hair! It’s all worth everything g when that bundle of loveliness comes out 🙂

  5. Titch - July 8, 2010

Ahhh. Gorgeous bubba. Makes me want to do it again (almost). The good definitely outweighs the bad in the end.

  6. LauraCYMFT - July 8, 2010

You look gorgeous! All bump! I love baby bumps, wish I was still pregnant to have one. So handy to rest your dinner plate on LOL

  7. Mummy's Little Monkey - July 8, 2010

KT: I know what you mean! At first it seems such a long, daunting, process, but now I’m 2/3rds through I can look back and think it wasn’t THAT bad…

Jen: It’s just lucky the little monkeys are sooooo cute and cancel out all the rubbish bits you go through before hand!

Mummy Bear: This was pregnancy number one – when I actually felt amazing from month 3 – 8!! This time round, as you know all too well yourself, I just feel like various degrees of crap.

Want to Know More? If it’s any consolation, I do NOT look like that this time around!!! More glowering, than glowing…

Titch: It’s that selective memory thing, right? Otherwise no one in their right mind would have more than one kid!

Laura: And to rest your hands on top of. My 2-year-old (that’s actually her in the first pic – I’m not quite that big yet, although not far off!) used it as a pillow today. It’s a multi-purpose bump.

  8. - July 8, 2010

From one who doesn’t do babies (as you know), this is a great post! Sweet!!!

  9. Kelly - July 8, 2010

The good side to the last (sort of) is that the clothes they have today are easier to use in the loo. I buy mine at Penneys using JCPenny coupons.

  10. Vivian - July 10, 2010

Someone has got to help us with the going to the loo all the time thing! Its awful! I dont have this problem during the day but night times! its just not fair! I try not to drink anything after six which is difficult as I love my tea! By the way I’m not pregnant Ive had five babies,so I guess thats the problem!! More excersise will do the trick I suppose!
