I love to shop, but with Baby No: 2 on the way I’ve had to be… excuse me while I spit this word out… sensible

And I’ve been a really good girl (although, admittedly, a little part of me has shrivelled up and died). But today I had a perfectly valid reason to spend some moolah, and I’m not going to lie – it felt FANTASTIC!!

We’re off to St Lucia in a few weeks (yay!) staying at the fabulous WINDJAMMER LANDING RESORT so, of course, I have to make sure we don’t look like a bunch of scruffbags.

Cue a trip to Gap Kids, where I invested in some summer essentials for the little one.

I picked up these adorable denim shorts for £15 (not cheap, but she’ll be able to wear them all summer once we get back home) and this t-shirt was just £5.99 in the sale. I got her some £7 jelly shoes for daytime, and splashed out on some £15 gold sandals for dressier occasions, and a summer wedding we’ve got coming up.

I love, love, love this outfit – what do you think??

Then I called into M&S and Lucia showed off her own shopping skills by demanding this Indian-style tunic/dress.

Once she had it in her grasp she refused to let it go – like, literally! I actually had to get another one off the rack for the shop assistant to run it through the till. Luckily it was not only perfect for our trip, and the wedding, but it was also a very reasonable £12.

She’s clearly inherited had my shopping skills AND my part-Scottish blood! As we left the shop she was still clutching it tightly to her chest, like it was made of pure gold.

So… what do you think of her very first individual fashion choice (teamed with her new gold sandals)??

Monica: I’m just so grateful that Lucia’s first fashion choice was halfway decent!!! It could have been soooooo much worse… x
